Trying a Bamboo Toothbrush

Ditch the plastic brush!

3.5 billion toothbrushes are thrown away annually, and that's just in the United States. Bamboo is a great material because its super sustainable. A certain type can grow two to three feet a day! I wanted to invest in a bamboo toothbrush. The four pack of brushes I bought, which should last a year, was only eight dollars. This is a great price compared to the standard single brush that costs ten dollars. Before I made the purchase, I did some research to find the best brand. In the end, I found that mostly all of the brands on Amazon were the same price, and the same quality. I landed on a brand called Isshah, which will be linked at the bottom. When I read the reviews I became skeptical that the brush would actually work. Many noted that the bristles were too soft, and all of the one star reviews said that the brushes gave them splinters in their mouths. I was willing to go through with the purchase and try the brush out because of the low price.

The first week or so using it was weird. I think I just wasn't used to the wood-like feeling inside my mouth. I was also extremely paranoid that I was go to get a splinter. But the good new is now I've been using them for a year and no splinters! It took me a while but I'm used to the new material now. As for the soft bristles, I actually like them better than the normal plastic ones. They go much lighter on my gums and make it much easier to brush near the edges of my teeth. When its time to move on to the next brush, you just pull the bristles out and compost the handle.

I highly recommend buying your own bamboo toothbrush.
